Obesity surgery is weight loss surgery applied to people who have clinical obesity problems and who are at risk for health problems related to this excess weight. Bariatric surgery, also called obesty surgery, is applied to patients who cannot lose weight to the targeted extent with diet and exercise. With obesity surgery, in some methods, the eating capacity of the person is reduced, while in some methods, the amount of food absorbed from the stomach and intestines is reduced. In some types of bariatric surgery, both procedures can be performed at the same time.
Dr. Abdulcabbar Kartal was born on February 14, 1980. He completed his medical doctorate education from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. He completed his General Surgery Specialization in Istanbul Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital in 2007-2013. He worked as a general surgeon in Şanlıurfa between 2013-2016. He continued his duty as “Surgical Assistant Professor” at Istanbul Okan University in 2016-2020. At the end of 2020, he became an “Associate Professor of Surgery”
